In a game of word association, Sketch comes to mind after the word "design". And, after Sketch, the words "egg loos". You can't go to Sketch without visiting its world-famous pod stalls, where the bright white light and rainbow tiled ceilings make for the perfect photo-op. Best of all, there's no shame when taking photos in here - it's a safe zone for both locals and tourists who want to enjoy incredible interiors and a spot of tea.

Le Gavroche's design has not changed since it opened 50 years ago, but the French restaurant proved its avant-garde when it came to designing a photogenic toilet. Francophiles will drool over the array of antique hand mirrors arranged on the white marble walls, and the over-the-top gold-framed mirrors are so Belle Epoque. Creamy walls and herringbone-tiled floors balance out the drama of the wall hangings to make for an aesthetically pleasing Instagram.

The restaurant may offer live music and performances during dinner, but the star of the show is the loo. With its sultry lighting and rich gold, jade and burgundy interior, the bathroom is a perfectly designed setting for a luxurious Instagram.

French restaurant Blanchette is charming, chic and a little cheeky. Ingres' Grand Odalisque welcomes you as you enter The Brick Lane location, and the works of art continue all the way to the toilet, where the subtly sexy wallpaper is worth pulling out the camera for.

Go to great heights for an Instagram and visit City Social's bathroom on the 24th floor of Tower 42. Sleek and modern, sure, but the vanity tables against the window allow you to reapply lipstick while enjoying one of the best views in London.

Each stall - or room, rather - has its own unique De Gournay hand-painted wallpaper, so it might be worth freshening up more than a few times during your meal to see each one.
